Virtual pet data and behavior coach

caring for complex pets can be overwhelming.

Keeping track of information and sharing it with the people who need it doesn’t have to be.

your own personal librarian and data nerd,
making data make sense for you.

The inspiration

Data tracking and training has been a vital part of my dog Rufio’s journey. I used our data tools when identifying problems, advocating at the vet, and monitoring Rufio’s progress. It also helped me spot trends and, maybe most importantly, helped me see progress when I needed encouragement the most.

The Mission

Help people make data work for them and their pets. I’m not just making a template and rolling it out to everyone who reaches out. Together, we’ll come up with a plan for keeping track of info that takes your personal habits, hopes, and challenges into account.

The Approach

The Ruf Out There approach to pet data training and coaching is grounded in ethical, evidence-based practices for pet training, information management, and data literacy. I also bring my lived experience as a chronically ill, neurodivergent pet guardian to every case, so you know I’m not expecting something to work for you just because it worked for someone else.

Brainstorm chart

It doesn’t matter if you are a pet parent or a training/behavior professional, knowing how to collect and store information about pets in a way that is easy and functional can be a game-changer for you.

When you track data, you can…

1

Have a documented history to reference as needed

2

Communicate about pets more clearly across care teams

3

Identify the “difference makers” for the individual pet in front of you

4

Make more informed decisions about care and enrichment

5

See what works and what doesn’t, so you can prioritize better

6

Spot progress earlier, to boost morale and encourage buy-in
